Dunaden drifts in Melbourne Cup betting

Sportingbet Australia has reacted to the news that Craig Williams will not be riding Dunaden by easing the French galloper’s price out to $9.

Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said punters were not likely to have as much confidence in replacement rider Christophe Lemaire.

“Lemaire is a superstar in Europe but he’s never ridden here and has been affected by the delayed trip due to the Qantas dispute,” said Sullivan.

“Williams could win on a broomstick at the moment and it has to be a significant blow to the second favourite’s chances.”
