$50k bet placed on At First Sight in Melbourne Cup 2011

One Sportingbet Australia punter clearly thinks At First Sight is the best locally trained hope in the Melbourne Cup placing $50,000 on him at $15.

Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said At First Sight was attracting the most interest outside of the heavily backed Niwot.

“At First Sight is $15 to $13 over the past couple of hours and while there’s nothing like the amount of money we’ve taken on Niwot there has been some strong support,” said Sullivan.

“His overseas form was first class and he’s been given plenty of time to settle in Australia since Lloyd Williams purchased him.”
